Very Good

Breakfast was really good. The hotel is located near the city centre and we could use the swimming pool.

Our stay at Vila Galé Coimbra was nothing short of exceptional! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The breakfast, dinner buffet, the pool everything was top notch!

The car parking was chargeable with 7.5 euros per day, which was kinda weird since Vila Galé has free parking in other locations.

Nice Hotel in the middle of Coimbra

The room was very nice and spacious with a view overlooking the pool area. Double glazed windows made it very quiet at night.

The car park is difficult to access and exit. Otherwise not much.

It is a well placed hotel, which operates a hot buffet style dinner and breakfast. It can be a bit crowded at times but the food is good basic fare.

Amazing food and staff.

Swimming pool, food, professional friendly staff.

We were both very disappointed with our massage, the girl was very nice, but she didn't put much effort into what she was doing and we came out feeling the same as we did before the treatment. I complained and was given 50% off but the massage, still wasn't worth it.

Expensive but not impressive enough

Huge space. Clean room. Prime location and nice river view.

The hotel was huge and nice landscape. Room rate includes breakfast buffet. What the other guest mentioned is true: the room is spacious and clean, but too outdated and not as luxurious as the hotel claims to be 4 star. The carpet in the room was particularly clear that it hasn’t been deep cleaned in a very long time. The hotel didn’t provide any amenities except the hairnet and no fridge inside the room either. I had to call the reception to get the amenities. I understand that eco-friendly is the norm but at least at 4* standard and nearly 170euro/night, they could’ve asked me if I needed anh amenities at check-in. The breakfast hall was, once again, Huge, but the buffet itself was basic, nothing special and not really 4* standard. When I arrived at breakfast it was still during peak hours but food replenishing was too slow. However what disappointed me most was that I asked the receptionist to wake-up call me so that I could take my medication on time, because I just underwent an invasive procedure that noon time and really did need some special attention/support. Yet, there was no calls at all. This has never happened to me at other hotel establishments no matter the scale, and I have traveled many places around the world. Overall I’d say not very impressive that much to come back.

Lovely hotel in a great location

The property is new and comfortable and the staff are brilliant. Everyone was really friendly, there is onsite parking and a great buffet breakfast. A fabulous location with an easy walk to restaurants and the centre of town.

Very enjoyable - highly recommended - I would stay again!

Clean, spacious rooms. Helpful, polite, hard-working staff. The breakfast was fantastic - tasty, plentiful and a huge variety. The pool was great. My (adult) son had his birthday while we were there...and a complimentary bottle of wine and birthday cake was left in his room - a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Good location for bus station and an easy walk into Coimbra.

The decor was a little gloomy (lots of dark brown) in places - perhaps it could do with updating. However, that is purely cosmetic and it did not adversely affect our stay.
